Where's California's "Light" & Who Owns The Land of The Free-ish?

"Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets." —Amos 3:7 (NKJV)
3

Let me preface this whole article by saying that we, true believers, know how this all ends…we win! Jesus is the Victor!

WHERE’S THE BEEF LIGHT?

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” —Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

I know I say this often, but I’ll try to be brief with this one in that the video is a bit lengthy and we cover a lot of ground. Suffice it to say that we are in deep yogurt as Dr. David Hocking puts it. Not only as a country, but most importantly as the church in America.

As I sat and listened to Pastor Jack last Sunday, he outlined some of California’s disastrous government bills and laws, but followed it up by saying that he was staying in California ‘till death do us part’. I believe what he was getting at was that he wasn’t going anywhere and was gonna stay in California for the long haul—engaged in the battle! My mind started racing immediately and I asked myself the following question: “Why are so many Christians leaving the state of California?” To some, that might be a slam-dunk answer, but not to me. Pastor Jack’s words echoed in my mind the rest of the day and evening. But seriously, why the exodus by so many christians? I mean, why not stay, fight and continue shining your light?

I’m sure those that have left have a reason as to why. Some reasons might be legitimate. However, I think if folks would be truly honest about their reasons for leaving California, it’d be more along the lines of “well, I didn’t want to keep dealing with the politics and I’d like some peace and quiet.” Bottom line is they don’t want to continue to engage in the fight. I get it, the phone calls, the letters, constant rejection all get tiresome. We don’t see any good, positive results. It’s a never ending hamster wheel that gets us nowhere. Wash, Rinse, Spin, repeat. I can understand the feeling that all our efforts are worthless. But are they? Does the Lord tell us to flee? To give up? I posted a note today that read something along these lines:

“I am convinced now more than ever that the darkness around us is growing faster than the light the church is outputting.”

That thought flooded my mind today as I stood in line at an amusement park while a young female finished smoking her marijuana joint (no, it’s not legal to get stoned in public) with everyone around us (more of this to come in a separate article), without a thought about anyone else around here nor a care in the world. I was reminded of that old Wendy’s commercial of the three older gals and the one famous line that exclaimed: “Where’s the beef!?!” Only this time, in California’s case, it’s more like: “Where’s the beef light?”

Seriously family, why are so many leaving the “harvest fields” so quickly in search for “greener pastures”? Many “christians” are taking their lights with them to places that might not be so desperate for it. Yes, the light of Christ needs to shine everywhere, but there are definitely places where it’s desperately needed more than others—and California is one of them! I’m sure you would agree.

Are there some folks that have left California, Oregon & Washington for specific reasons? Absolutely! Some due to family. Other’s maybe because they got a job transfer or their places of employment moved out of state, i.e. Toyota, Tesla, etc. There’s a saying that goes something like this: “Never say never.” If the Lord is the One that moves you, then so be it. He obviously has specific plans. But, I can’t say that every christian that has left California did so by the leading of Lord. I’ll let that stew for a bit.

WHO OWNS THE LAND OF THE FREE-ISH?

Rohn recently sent me an article titled Who Owns America? Oligarchs Have Bought Up the American Dream. The article opens with a quote from the late comedian George Carlin that goes like this:

“The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls. They got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear… They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying. Lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else... It’s called the American Dream, 'cause you have to be asleep to believe it.”

That’s a pretty sobering statement coming from an individual who, as far as I know, was not a believer by any stretch of the imagination. However, he managed to summarize what most of us know to be true already, and that is that America is no longer the land of the free and home of the brave. I’ll take it a few steps further and make the claim that America is no longer the christian nation she once was. America has gone from being a sending nation of missionaries (light and salt to the whole word) to being a receiving nation. America is now considered, and has been for over a decade and a half a mission field. Most likely, one of the hardest mission fields in the world. How so you might ask. Well, because it’s extremely difficult to get someone who has “everything” to understand that they are in desperate need of a Savior.

In an article titled New Missionaries Dispatched Across Yesterday's Christian Nation, Today's Mission Field, North American Mission Board President Robert E. Reccord said that “The United States is no longer a Christian nation, but a mission field”—and this was back in 2006 folks. Let me blunt family, America has become the new “Rome”. No, not the ‘Roman Empire’ (that’s not what I’m saying). What I am saying is that much like Rome’s rampant immorality, politics and out of control spending “did it in”, America is now engaged in much of the same exact behaviors and practices that doomed the once mighty Roman Empire.

So, the question still remains—who owns America? In the article, the author poses the following questions as possible answers: “Is it the government? The politicians? The corporations? The foreign investors? The American people?”. I certainly guarantee anyone that it’s not the latter. No, we, the American people certainly DO NOT own America. And to be quite honest with everyone, we never will. Now before anyone fries a circuit or crosses their cables in regards to that statement, let me tell you why so by making a statement I’ve often times repeated. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that the “woes” and “ills” we face in our nation today are nothing more than a reflection of the condition of the American church.

Though the author makes good points to support his view as to why America’s now been “sold and bought”, I truly believe that the real reason goes much deeper. I believe it to be a spiritual one. The article says that:

“While the Deep State keeps the nation divided and distracted by a presidential election whose outcome is foregone (the police state’s stranglehold on power will ensure the continuation of endless wars and out-of-control spending, while disregarding the citizenry’s fundamental rights and the rule of law), America is literally being bought and sold right out from under us.”

He’s partially right, but, he’s forgetting that the same woes that have infected our nation, have found their way into the church; therefore, infecting the one place that should have acted as the only “immunity” against it—the church. The American church, a once formidable foe in the battle against evil, capitulated in multiple ways. Most churches—yes, even evangelical ones—resemble large corporations these days rather than places of worship and prayer. It kind of reminds me of what Jesus said when He cleansed the temple:

12 Then Jesus went into the temple [a]of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” —Matthew 21:12-13 (NKJV)

You’re more likely to get a front desk admin answer your call along these lines: “Thank you for calling ___NAME OF CHURCH___ how can I direct your call?” Really? How about we stop caring about sounding so “professional” and go back to acting like the body of Christ.

I find it so ironic what Paul writes in Romans 10:20-21:

20 But Isaiah is very bold and says:

“I was found by those who did not seek Me;
I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”

21 But to Israel he says:

“All day long I have stretched out My hands
To a disobedient and contrary people.”

So, we, the gentiles were found by the Lord while we weren’t actively engaged in seeking Him. What amazing grace and mercy. He manifested Himself to us though we didn’t ask. We were grafted in! Praise the Lord for His grace, mercy and compassion…amen?

But look with me at verse 21. Though this verse is directed at Israel, doesn’t it apply to us today? You bet it does! Have we, much like Israel, become a “disobedient and contrary people.”? Yes we have!

Bottom line is that while we should have been acting in the interest of our Heavenly Father, we, the American church made gross concessions and compromises with the world—and here we are today. A book out by Megan Basham titled Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agendawhich unfortunately is under heavy fire by those in the church (video about this forthcoming)— documents “how progressive powerbrokers —from George Soros, to the founder of eBay, to former members of the Obama administration— set out to change the American church. Their goal: to co-opt evangelicals for political purposes.” Eye-opening to say the least! But this has been a ploy of satan all along and the greedy American church, its pulpits and pastors fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Family, we MUST stand strong in what is a spiritual battle like never before. The powers of darkness are working overtime and the church is on “vacation”. I hope and pray that the “few” of us standing would remain on guard and vigilant. Remember that we serve the One who has the victory already! He is ultimately in control.

In the end, we win! But in the meantime, fight the good fight, stand strong, be vigilant, know the Word, pray, fast, love one another and don’t forget to share Jesus with as many people as you can because we’re living on borrowed time. Love y’all!

😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻
