NOT 2-Minute Tuesdays: A Spot of Tea?!?

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:16

Hot tea is a nightly routine for me, especially on a “cold” winters night. Well, for us in Southern California, a cold night is a subjective term. I digress though. About 2 months ago, I was making my nightly hot Ginger tea with honey and I noticed how the essence of the tea bags contents where being infused from the tea bag to the hot water. I have to say that I was easily amused watching it happen in real time.

What was most captivating though was the immediate word picture that the Holy Spirit gave me in that moment. Most of us don’t give second thought to making a hot cup of tea, or as the British say: “A spot of tea.” But there’s a spiritual lesson to be learned if and when we’re paying attention—which for the most part, I certainly don’t. This time though, the Spirit taught me a quick visual lesson that I wanted to share with you.

My hope is that you’ll pick up on this “hot” lesson and allow it to settle, or “steep” in your daily life/routine. Some might think that I’m grasping at straws (no pun) with my analogy and visual, but I’d like to encourage you to truly envision this spiritual lesson that can be pulled from a daily, “mundane” task as that of making a cup—or spot (depending what part of the world you’re reading this in)—of tea!

So, grab yourself a cup, or spot, of tea and enjoy this short, but prayerfully insightful lesson about tea and the Word of God.

😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻

It’s amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world every day always just exactly fits the newspaper.” —Jerry Seinfeld
