2-Minute+ Tuesdays: EPISODE 5: Regret

"Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because the regret is stronger than gratitude." —Anne Frank

What’s the point of beating around the bush, I’ll just come out and say what many of us think about ‘regret’: It sucks! There, I said it. We’ve all heard the saying that God didn’t give us eyes in the back of our head—for good reason. Funny thing, though I have no eyes in the back of my head, I still look back at what I shouldn’t have done and find that it becomes a source of irritation and/or discouragment.

Seriously though, what’s the point of looking back at what we did or didn’t do and allow it to be a source of “mourning” in our lives, especially for those of us that are in Christ Jesus. This is something that I have to remind myself of when thoughts of regret want to flood my mind. If we’re not careful, satan will use these times wherein we wallow in self-pity because of something we did years or even decades ago as a means to ‘beat us while we’re down’. And trust me when I tell you that he doesn’t play fair.

Listen, there’s really no point in regret. It aides in nothing but to bring us down, and that’s not of the Lord. He is the One that regenerated us. He made us whole. He made us righteous through Him. He made us a NEW creation.

So the next time that old “pal” named ‘Regret’ wants to take you on a trip down memory lane, make sure you give it a good, swift kick in the behind (but I really mean the other word) and keep on keepin’.

Let me remind each of us what happens once we’ve been washed in the blood of the Lamb—Jesus Christ:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].” —2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)

Boom, that settles it!

GOSPEL CARDS: A HELPFUL TOOL

If you’d like to get your hands on the gospel cards that I produce, please go HERE and fill out the form to let me know how many you’d like for free. Here’s the only catch, all I ask of you would be to cover the cost of shipping.

However, if you feel led to donate beyond the cost of shipping to help offset the costs of production (printing, ink, labels, etc.), it’d be a huge blessing. But if you cannot, I’ll still send them your way, no worries!
