Maybe it’s just me, but it would seem that with every passing year, the Halloween “decorations” are more gory and demonic than the prior year. The Halloween shows put on by amusement parks and other venues race to see which one can outdo and outperform the other in regards to the level of horror, gore, blood and evil. It’s truly become a race to see who’s more demonic. Our society has fully embraced evil, and it’s wholly evident by our societies loss for love of life, morality, respect and especially the fear of God.
Truth is that those that embrace these practices whole heartedly do not know the Lord and are doing what they know how to do because they are spiritually dead in their trespasses as it says in Ephesians 2:1:
“And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins,” (AMP)
But as I always am saying that the true “test” of society can be seen in what the church (the body of Christ) is doing in regards to these things. And, the sad truth is that many within the church body are not only partaking of Halloween, but, also giving lofty approval of those that do. Those that make up large swaths of the American Youth groups are visiting and partaking of events like Knott’s Scary Farm, Universal Studios’ Horror nights, Magic Mountains Fright Fest and many more. One of my sons teammates, who professes Christ, made mention how he went to Knott’s Scary Farm a day ago and was supposedly so “scared” he almost passed out. Now I understand he might have been exaggerating the facts, as often times is the case with these things, but, the elephant in the room is that there’s no conviction to give heed to God’s Word when it tells us to have “no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, rather to expose them.”
It should be troubling to the body of Christ that the youth and adults alike are engaging in the practices of the world and the occult—even if for a day, or as they’d say in “innocent fun”. Is it really innocent to partake of the that which celebrates satan, demons and evil? To welcome and embrace that which is antithetical to the Word of God no matter how “innocent” we may think it to be? If anything, Halloween has become a litmus test as to the compromise of the body of Christ.
In a recent podcast I did with Pete Garcia (which I’ll link here), I made mention of the fact that I don’t gauge the nearness of the rapture by what I see happening in the world around, rather, I gauge it based on the spiritual condition of the church. Why is that? Well, because we were commanded to be salt and light to the world. We were commanded to be set apart. We were commanded to follow His commands as the Lord said in John 14:15 when Jesus said:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” (NKJV)
In other words, what Jesus was saying is more like this: “If (conditional) love me, you WILL keep My commandments.” So then, my question to the body of Christ is as follows: Are we keeping His commandments? If the answer is no, then the logical follow-up question would be is “why not?” And, if were gonna be honest based on the current spiritual condition and “temperature” (Laodecia) of the church, especially in light of Jesus statement/command in John 14, the reason is that we no longer have love for the Lord. We’ve lost the ability to fear Him, and that is a very “horrific” place to be, no pun.
When the church loses the fear of God, we lose all respect and reverence for a holy, righteous, just, fair, merciful, gracious and loving God. What’s left is the alternative and that is everything that opposes itself to the Lord. In this case no qualms about celebrating and embracing evil.
My hope is that you’ll see that any embrace of Halloween, no matter how big or small, is an embrace of satan. As willful or “ignorant” as it may be, it is what it is, evil!
Let me leave you with the words that Paul spoke to the Corinthian church—one that was compromising in every way. This is what Paul had to say, to which I echo every single one of his words.
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship (or commonality) has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion (of fellowship) has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you (we) are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them and walk among them.
I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”17 Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” —2 Corinthians 6:14-17 (NKJV)
If there’s anything you can do on that (and every other day) is pray and share Jesus! We are living on borrowed time. Don’t give the enemy a foothold in your life. Get your house in order because Jesus is coming back soon for His Bride! Are you ready?
😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻
