A Wake-Up Call to the Church: Reflections from the End of Days Bible Conference

"Little children, it is the last hour..." —1 John 2:18a

I had the privilege of speaking at the End of Days Bible Conference in Lake Stevens, Washington, on May 31st of this year. As always, the time flew by, but the fellowship and the memories were sweet.

The theme of the entire conference was the rapture of the Church. I sensed the Holy Spirit leading me to cover the case for a pre-tribulational rapture. I had only 55 minutes to do so. Let me be honest: though it was a noble and sincere attempt, it proved futile at the end of 55 minutes—there's simply too much ground to cover in such a short span. The reasons for believing in a pre-tribulation rapture are vast and rich, and condensing them into one session is a tall order.

Now, what I’m about to share isn't definitive proof of a pre-trib rapture, but I believe it highlights something just as urgent: the condition of the Church today. The body of Christ is deeply fractured. I know I’ve said that many times before—and I’ll keep saying it—but the reality becomes more apparent with each passing day. Within what we call Christendom, or the ecclesia, there is growing division. Believers can’t seem to agree on much. Worse, many go to great lengths to ensure their opinion—though often not grounded in Scripture—becomes dogma.

People are fighting fiercely over minor theological issues, majoring in the minors, while showing little love or grace to those they call brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s disheartening.

I once had an acquaintance—an unbeliever—tell me the only difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is that the Christian will kneel and pray before screwing you over. He used a strong, offensive word that I won’t repeat here, but the sting of that statement has stayed with me. Some might say that’s extreme, and sure, not all believers act that way. We shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. But we also can’t deny there’s a troubling amount of truth to that statement.

Far too many in evangelical Christianity have given the enemy a foothold—through pride. That includes many pastors (and yes, you know who you are, even if you’d never admit it, not even to the Lord). There’s a pervasive “my way or the highway” mindset when it comes to biblical interpretation. Whatever happened to humility? What about the meek, the poor in spirit, the merciful? It’s easy to preach those virtues—living them is another story entirely.

If I’m being candid, I’d bet money (just a saying—I don’t gamble!) that the level of pride and arrogance in the Church—and especially in the pulpit—has reached epidemic proportions.

So here we are: a broken, fractured, ultra-divided Church. One that has allowed the poison of pride and arrogance to seep in and take root. And in the middle of this dysfunction, we’re wasting precious time arguing over speculation. Honestly? My response to all the endless and continuous speculations about world events and politics and how they ‘might’ fit into the end-times bible prophecy mold is simple: Who cares!?! They’ve become a distraction to what our ultimate call as believers is.

Christ didn’t call us to be speculators. He called us to be students of the Word—people who hide it in our hearts, meditate on it day and night, and teach it diligently to our children. And right now, we’re failing at that, because too many of us are busy worshipping at the altar of self.

Friends, the Lord is coming back—soon. Period.

So the question is: are you ready?

Because when He calls us home, you’ll either be left or right! That is left behind—or right with Jesus!

The choice is yours.

😁Have A Nice Day!👍🏻
