There's definitely no shortage of events going on around the world and at home that point to a coming time of trouble the likes of which this world has never seen and will never see again. That being said: Let me ask you a few questions: Does each and every news article or segment that we hear about fit into the prophetic narrative that we read about in the Scriptures? Do certain events, whether political or not, speed up Bible prophecy of the end times? Do they slow them down? Finally, is there such a thing as an acceleration or deceleration of end-time Bible prophecy? I've heard pastors, teachers, those in the comment sections on social media, and even some in the church say that this or that event has slowed down Bible prophecy. I've also heard it said that a Harris/Walz administration would have sped things up.
In the past, I've been guilty of making such a statement. However, I now disagree with myself regarding this issue. After this crazy election cycle, I began to hear these statements more often. It got me thinking about the question of the "speed" of end-time Bible prophecy. I wondered: Is it stationary, constant, or is it fluid? I mean this only in the sense of its apparent momentum.
So as not to spoil what I concluded in the podcast, suffice it to say that God has got this all figured out. Solomon said it well in Ecclesiastes 3:1 when he penned the following words:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven..." (NKJV)
Know this friend: Nothing that happens in your immediate sphere of influence, or on the local, state, federal, and even global level, surprises the Lord. His plan is perfect! And why is that? Because He IS perfect! Knowing that the Lord has our best interests at heart should give us a constant sense of peace and trust in our Savior. It's all part of His perfect prophetic plan, no matter what happens.
My prayer is that we don't become so focused on what the next event is on the prophetic calendar - although it's good to stay informed - but rather that we focus on the more pressing issue in the world today...getting people to Jesus and getting Jesus to the masses! May we truly become a "syndicate" or, better yet, a worldwide coalition for the Gospel. A body of believers focused on doing what our Savior told us to do just before He ascended to heaven. He said: "Go and make disciples of all nations!
So, let's be obedient, get out and work for Him!
